Questions about Ireland. I am going on holidays to Ireland in a few weeks for St Patricks Day and was hoping?
First of all, you need to get it straight that there is the REPUBLIC OF IRELAND (where you are probably going to celebrate St. Patty's Day) and there is NORTHERN IRELAND. Although we Irish would like to see the two united again, unfortunately for right now they are seperate. NORTHERN IRELAND is part of the UK and they use sterling. However, I don't think you would want to go there to celebrate St. Patty's Day, if you know what I mean. The REPUBLIC uses euros now, but used to use Irish pounds. No, the Queen doesn't go through the streets on parade, that would only happen in London. I don't know of any tour you can take to see Leprecauns, but you might want to google it. In the REPUBLIC, it is possible to hear people speaking Irish Gaelic and most of the road signs are in Gaelic and in English and sometimes German. About the visa, it depends on where you are from. I'm guessing you are not from the British Isles as you would already know the answers to your questions. Therefore, I'm uming that you are an American. In that case, you won't need a visa unless you plan on staying in the country for several weeks.
