Can you have Ovarian Hyper-stimulation Syndrome if you don't take fertility drugs? Ruptured ovarian cyst?

I went to ER w/severe LLQ pain which then moved to all over abdomen. U/S & CT showed enlarged left ovary w/multiple cysts up to 2.7cm & 4.5cm. No diverticulosis (which was a ??). Nausea was from pain, no vomiting or D. No fever. WBC 13. Today, belly is very tender, bloated, slightly spasmotic like it was but much less. Pain has improved but is not gone. I ate food today and that didn't affect pain. Previously, I had hysterectomy and Rt. ovary removed. I'm wondering what the chances are that it is/was a ruptured cyst...and if so, what the possibilities are of those other pesky cysts rupturing. Can you have OVARIAN HYPERSTIMULATION if you are not taking fertility drugs? I'm 43 and have had ovarian cysts in the past that were not this painful...and didn't rupture. I had no other symptoms until the pain hit yesterday. It was worse than labor. I'm worried about it happening again (and it hasn't gone away yet). Thanks in advance for your thoughts...
