The bridge on my guitar floats when i tune. wtf?!?

Hello, Matthew! It sounds like you know what you are doing with adjusting the balance between the string tension and the tremolo bridge springs. Springs do weaken over time, especially when stretched to capacity. uming you currently have less than five springs, I would just add a spring or two, then go through the tuning exercise again.
