My iPod got zapped by a lightning globe! Help!?

I have a lightning globe in my room, and it happened to be turned on when I decided to stand in front of it while listening to my iPod Nano. My iPod touched the lightning globe and now it has no heat detection. By that, I mean that it can no longer perform any function that regularly requires you to slide your finger around the control pad, such as selecting what to do/play and adjusting the volume. What can I do to fix it, or are there other ways I can make my iPod do what I want it to but just using the pressure ons? Thanks.
