Would the scientific refutement of evolution make creationism or christianity any more legitimate?

The evidence supporting evolution is obviously overwhelming (unless you a gullible religious wingnut with pre-conceived notions that you will never abandon even in the face of hard science). My question is rather even if evolution were disproven somehow, how would this make creationism/christianity any more legitimate??
